Untouched by mainstream tourism, Wananavu beach resort is situated on the northern most point of Fiji’s main island at Viti Levu. A 2 ¼ hours drive from Nadi airport combines the convenience of the mainland with the idyllic isolation of an island retreat.
Birdsong and the lapping of the waves are the loudest things you’ll hear on our Sun Coast and we guarantee it won’t be long before you slip into the slow rhythms of Fiji time.

You can enjoy yourself while getting some exercise on our tennis courts, try a gentle game of petanque or challenge yourself at Wananavu frisbee golf.
Snorkel gear is available free of change and there are daily snorkelling trips to the inner and outer reefs.
For those after a more cultural and educational experience, over the week we host interesting talks from our local sage on the history and culture of the region, herbal medicine & the Fijian flora and fauna.

Wananavu runs tours inland to the local area on most days including:
Narara Waterslide Tour – You will visit an awe-inspiring tropical rainforest and experience the magic of sliding down a 20ft waterfall into a beautiful heart-shaped pool. The tour takes you to a village where you will experience local entertainment, and take part in a kava ceremony – a unique Fijian experience.
Barotu Bamboo Rafting – Have the unique experience of travelling downstream with villagers from Barotu on bamboo rafts and see the unusual flora, including giant mangroves. Sit back and relax in this tranquil environment, listen to the silence, broken only by the sound of the birds and the local kids at play in the river.
Suncoast Tour – Experience the real Fiji by taking a guided tour around the local area. Your tour will include a visit to a local village, the world famous Church of the Black Christ, the township of Rakiraki, the local sugar mill, and the tomb of the last Cannibal Chief Udreudre.
Tapa Making Class – Tapa cloth is synonymous with Fiji. While you’re on holiday you can visit a local village and learn the ancient art of tapa cloth making, plus you’ll be able to take home your very own made piece of tapa.
Shopping in Rakiraki – A visit to our local town will give you a glimpse into everyday Fijian life. You will see a traditional market with its bright colours, boisterous shops, kava stands, open air buses, and the eclectic mix of Fijian, Indian and European cultures.

Wananavu’s chefs take pride in creating sumptuous dishes so that your dining experience will be a memorable part of your stay on our picturesque island resort.
Glorious weather means guests often choose to dine on the deck where they can take in the panoramic views of the clear blue Pacific Ocean and the lush tropical gardens.
Breakfast begins at 7am and offers a buffet selection of fresh fruit, juices, cereals, muffins, fresh bread and homemade jams. Order your cooked needs from our à la carte menu and enjoy a Wananavu blend of fresh coffee and a selection of teas.
The sound of the lali drums and the Wananavu Band Boys call guests to lunch at midday. Choose from a tempting menu of international cuisine. The Pacific-influenced all-day menu changes daily.
A picnic on the beach can make a romantic change and sumptuous picnic lunches are available every day.
As the tropical sun begins to set in the Pacific Ocean the flares are lit, the guitars are strummed, the kava bowl is filled and dinner is served. The all-day menu is complement by a changing selection from our evening menu, featuring local and international cuisine.
Take part in a real Fijian experience on Lovo Night. In this traditional Fijian way of cooking the food is wrapped in banana leaves and cooked over hot stones buried under ground. You can be present at the covering and uncovering of the lovo and listen to the locals explain their traditional method of cooking and the rituals involved. Not only is this a uniquely Fijian experience but the food is also delicious. Lovo Night is accompanied by a Meke, or traditional Fijian storytelling through dance and song.
